Session helps acclimate new faculty

Posthumous degree to Panasci. The late Henry A. Panasci Jr., a UB graduate who co-founded the Fay's drugstore chain, will receive an honorary doctoral degree from the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences during its annual white coat ceremony today.

Faculty kick off concert season. Two faculty recitals—one of which will be performed by a new resident chamber ensemble—will open the 2005-06 concert season for the Department of Music.

Assisting in MTV2 show. The new season of MTV2's video game and music program "Video Mods" is, in part, the result of an innovative partnership between a Buffalo company and UB's supercomputing center.

Commercializing discoveries. UB's Office of Science, Technology and Economic Outreach and First Wave Technologies Inc., a technology-development company, have announced a collaborative effort to expand the commercialization of early-stage university technologies utilizing private-sector resources.

Studying real options theory. UB management professor Tony Tong studies real options theory, a new way for large corporations to structure and manage their strategic investments in uncertain business environments.
