SA to offer free films under the stars

  • The mid-July screenings of “The Hunger Games” will highlight the Student Association’s annual summer film series.

The undergraduate Student Association and UB Student Life will open their annual summer film series next week with screenings of “21 Jump Street” presented free of charge on the North and South campuses.

Films will be shown on Tuesday and Friday nights on the special events field adjacent to the Student Union on the North Campus and on Wednesday nights on the Hayes Hall lawn on the South Campus. Screenings will begin shortly after sundown; viewers are urged to be on site by 9 p.m. through July and by 8:30 p.m. in August.

In the event of rain, screenings will be moved to the Student Union Theatre on the North Campus and Allen Hall on the South Campus.

The screenings are open to members of the general public, as well as the UB community.

  • June 26, 27, 29: “The Vow”
  • July 3, 6: “Act of Valor”
  • July 10, 11, 13: “The 5 Year Engagement”
  • July 17, 18, 20: “The Hunger Games”
  • July 24, 25, 27: “Wrath of the Titans”
  • July 31, Aug. 1 and 3: “Think Like a Man”
  • Aug. 7, 8, 10: “Captain America/Thor”
  • Aug. 14, 15, 17: “The Avengers”
