  • PSS to hold plant exchange

    The Professional Staff Senate will holds its third annual Plant Exchange Luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. June 12 in 210 Student Union, North Campus.

    Participants can take home one perennial for each one they bring to the exchange, with a limit of three.

    The fee for participating, which includes lunch catered by the Gourmet Store, is $6.

    The event is open to all UB employees.

    Those interested should sign up by June 5. The first 40 to register will receive magazines valued at $21, including Fine Gardening, Urban Farm, Country Gardens and Gardening How-To magazine.

  • Conference to examine ‘systemness’

    “Harnessing Systemness, Delivering Performance,” a conference presented by SUNY system administration to discuss new ways the SUNY system model can be retooled to meet the economic and political challenges of the future, will be held Nov. 8-9 in New York City.

    Co-sponsors are NASH (National Association of System Heads) and the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities.

    The conference, the “2012 Critical Issues in Higher Education Conference,” will be held in the Millennium Broadway Hotel, 145 West 44th St. in Manhattan. The registration fee is $250.
