UB will celebrate the scholarly, research and creative achievements of its students on April 5 at the eighth annual Celebration of Student Academic Excellence.

All members of the UB and broader Western New York community are welcome to attend the event, which will be held in the Center for the Arts, North Campus.

A Celebration of Faculty/Staff Academic Excellence took place in September.

The event will open with poster presentations by graduate students in the Mainstage theater, beginning at 1 p.m.; more than 100 presentations by undergraduate investigators will be on display in the CFA atrium, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

The celebration ceremony, hosted by President Satish K. Tripathi and Interim Provost Bruce D. McCombe, will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Drama Theatre. During the ceremony, students who are nominees and recipients of various national, SUNY and UB awards, among them nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships, the SUNY Chancellor’s Awards for Student Excellence and the UB Graduate Student Excellence in Teaching Awards, will be recognized.

In addition, recipients of the UB Faculty Award for Excellence in Mentoring Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity will be honored.

The ceremony will conclude with remarks by Tripathi and a performance of an excerpt from “Talk to Me,” by the Department of Theatre and Dance’s International Artistic and Cultural Exchange Program.
