  • Traffic restrictions on Maple Road

    Erie County highway crews will begin reconstruction work on March 26 on several sections of Maple Road from Hopkins Road to Flint Road at the entrance to the North Campus.

    Thru traffic will maintained, but restrictions will be in place so that county workers can reconstruct the intersections of Maple and Flint, North Forest and Hopkins roads.

    The work is expected to continue through Sept. 28.

  • International student workshop set

    International Student and Scholar Services will present a free workshop tomorrow to help faculty and staff better respond to international students’ needs.

    “Beyond the Basics: Meeting International Students’ Needs” will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. March 23 in 31 Capen Hall, North Campus.

    The workshop, to be led by ISSS Director Ellen Dussourd, will examine the strategies used by international students and the reasons why they employ various strategies, and offer suggestions to facilitate successful communication and cultural understanding.

  • Plan your ‘quit’ at free session

    Now that spring is here, UB smokers interested in making a healthy lifestyle change can attend a free smoking-cessation workshop sponsored by Wellness Education Services.

    The session will be held from 4-5 p.m. March 28 in 235 Student Union, North Campus.

    Participants will receive tips, tools and resources—including free quit mints, stress reliever tools, nicotine gum, lozenges and patches—to help them get their “quit” off to a strong start.
