  • PSS to meet Oct. 27

    The Professional Staff Senate will hold a general membership meeting from 3-5 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Center for Tomorrow, North Campus.

    Guest speakers will be Robert Wagner, senior advisor to the president, who will talk about what he has learned during his 35 years at UB and how it can help staff members, and Amy Myszka, director of wellness and work life balance, who will discuss the university’s wellness and work life balance initiatives.

    All members of the professional staff are welcome to attend.

  • Tripathi to address voting faculty

    President Satish K. Tripathi will deliver the president’s annual address to the voting faculty at 3 p.m. Nov. 1 in the Center for Tomorrow, North Campus.

    All members of the UB community are invited to attend.

  • Volunteers needed for gala

    Volunteers are needed to work at this year’s UB Scholarship Gala, to be held from 6-11 p.m. Nov. 4 in the Edward Wright Practice Facility in Alumni Arena, North Campus.

    Variety of fun activities will be available for those who work the event.

  • Bills offering discount tickets

    The Buffalo Bills are offering a special discount rate for UB faculty and staff for tickets to the team’s remaining home games in Ralph Wilson Stadium.

    Faculty and staff can purchase tickets to the games against the New York Jets on Nov. 6, the Tennessee Titans on Dec. 4, the Miami Dolphins on Dec. 18 and the Denver Broncos on Dec. 24 for prices ranging from $73, $63, $52 and $24—a savings of up to 50 percent.

  • PSS sponsoring potluck

    The Professional Staff Senate’s Diversity Committee is sponsoring “A Taste of UB” festive potluck luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 3 in 215 Student Union (Flag Room), North Campus.

    In addition to food and beverages, the event will feature a workshop on “exploring our community,” as well as performances by a UB student group and the Bryant Pullins Jazz Quintet from the historic Colored Musician’s Club.

    Those interested in attending should RSVP by Oct. 28 to pssenate@buffalo.edu with their name and the name of the festive or traditional dish they plan to bring. Participants are urged to bring an index card with their dish’s name, recipe and the story behind the dish.

    Paper goods, beverages, cookies and brownies will be provided.
