Frank Scannapieco, professor and chair of the Department of Oral Biology, School of Dental Medicine, has been elected to membership on the Task Force on Design and Analysis in Oral Health Research. Founded in 1973, the task force fosters sound and innovative methodologies in the design and analysis of oral health clinical research, and encourages dialogue between all stakeholders in oral health research.
Nils Olsen, professor of law, has been named chairman of the Buffalo Fiscal Stability Authority, more informally known as the city’s control board, by Gov. David A. Paterson. Olsen had been named a member of the fiscal oversight panel two weeks earlier by Paterson.
Marnie B. LaVigne, director of business development at UB’s New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences, has been named to the advisory board of Upstate Venture Connect, a newly formed, nonprofit group to help upstate entrepreneurs link up with potential investors.
