Building UB: Our Physical Plan

UB Downtown Gateway

The historic former M. Wile Co. factory building has been transformed into the new UB Downtown Gateway building, housing outreach programs as diverse as the Regional Institute and UBMD.

The UB Downtown Gateway, as part of a complex by the same name, provides space for community outreach, service and research programs with a public orientation. UB’s Regional Institute, a policy “think tank,” was the first program to take up residence in the former M. Wile & Co. building at 77 Goodell St. UBMD, the physician practice plan of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, along with UB’s Office of Economic Engagement, moved to the building in 2011.

Additional units that moved into the UB Gateway include the School of Management’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and the Center for Educational Collaboration, a comprehensive, joint effort between UB and the Buffalo Public Schools to improve academic outcomes for all of the district’s students.
