Adobe newsletter notes work of UB's illustration program So what do a banana, a dog, a bird, a woman and a man in a room have in common? That depends on the artist-and the "Banana Project." Students in Elka Kazmierczak's advanced illustration class at UB have received national recognition in the June issue of "Artline," a newsletter produced by software manufacturer Adobe, for their work utilizing those elements. The students' assignment is to to illustrate the statement, "So much depends on a banana, a dog, a bird, a woman and a man in the room." Acting in the role of an art director commissioning an illustration,
Kazmierczak gives students the assignment. Students can use whatever medium
they want-traditional or digital-as long as final artwork is presented as
an Adobe Photoshop TIFF. This multidisci-plinary strategy has since been adopted widely in the field. The memorial celebration will include a buffet meal from 6-7:30 p.m., followed by opportunities to share memories from 7:30-9 p.m. and a party with live music from 9-11 p.m. Those planning to attend are asked to call 838-2707.
