UB 13, Maine 52
Maine quarterback Mickey Fein threw five touchdown passes to lead the Black Bears to a 52-13 win over Buffalo at UB Stadium on Nov. 8.

Maine led 17-7 late in the second quarter when Buffalo quarterback Chad Salisbury was intercepted by Lateef O'Connor, who returned the pick 73 yards for a score to take the life out of the Bulls.

Buffalo wide receiver Drew Haddad had seven catches for 134 yards to break the single-season record for receptions in a season, with a total of 61. Split end Jamie Gasparre matched Chris D'Amico's Buffalo record for touchdown receptions in a career (19) with his 33-yard touchdown catch from Salisbury.

Buffalo nose guard Keith Hansen set a school record by posting two tackles for loss, giving him 41 in his career. Dan Curcione led the Bulls with nine tackles, while Hardy Mitchell had eight tackles and a half-sack. Dan Poulsen added 1.5 sacks for Buffalo.

UB 3, Northeastern Illinois 0
The Bulls regained a winning record after dominating the Purple Eagles of Niagara on Nov. 5 in Alumni Arena. The Bulls knocked off the Eagles in a quick three games, 15-3, 15-9, 15-7, and were led by senior middle hitter Kathy Brinkworth, who had seven kills and three solo blocks in the match.

On Nov. 8, the Bulls competed in their final regular-season conference game against Northeastern Illinois. The Bulls hammered NEIU by 15-6 and 15-4 counts in the first two games, but struggled in the third, winning 18-16.

Sophomore outside hitter Rebecca Meade led the Bulls' attack with nine kills and a .304 attacking percentage. Sophomore Somer Deschambault added 10 digs and 12 assists. Junior middle hitter Aprille Sweeting notched five kills and sophomore outside hitter Katie Cahill had eight digs in the Buffalo victory.

UB 67, Marathon Oil 64
Senior Rasaun Young had 16 points and eight assists in 22 minutes and fellow senior Matt Clemens added 16 points and 12 rebounds as Buffalo defeated Marathon Oil, 75-67, in a Nov. 4 exhibition game in Alumni Arena.

Mike Martinho added 11 points and freshman Maliso Libomi had 10 points and three blocked shots for the Bulls. Freshman point guard Ryan Peterson added six assists and four rebounds for UB.

The Bulls closed their exhibition season on Sunday night against another traveling Marathon Oil team with a 67-64 victory. Young scored 28 points in 29 minutes and shot an outstanding 11-of-15 from the field in the Buffalo victory. Robert Harris added 12 points in 19 minutes, while Peterson added nine assists and five rebounds.

UB 59, Athletes in Action 62
UB 92, University of Toronto 57

Senior Charissa Gardner and freshman Tiffany Bell contributed 12 points each in a losing effort Nov. 3 for the Bulls. Athletes in Action knocked off Buffalo, 62-59, in the Bulls' first exhibition game of the season.

On Nov. 8, the Bulls gained an impressive 92-57 win over the University of Toronto, as five Bulls hit double figures. Gardner shined again for Buffalo as she poured in 19 points and grabbed six rebounds in the victory. Bell added 14 points and seven rebounds, while Kim Coon, Catherine Jacob and freshman Mari McClure all had 11 points.

Men's
UB 1, Colgate 6
In their final regular season game, the Bulls were defeated by the Red Raiders of Colgate, 6-1. Sophomore Steve Butcher registered Buffalo's only goal of the game at the 17:20 mark on a give-and-go from freshman midfielder John Shannon.

Tristan Burton, Butcher and Brian McCallion were named to the Mid-Con First Team All-Conference squad, while Chris Barletta, Brian Cruickshank, Doug Geller and Tim Merrick were second-team selections. Butcher was also voted the Conference's Newcomer of the Year after scoring a Mid-Con regular-season high 34 points in his first season with the Bulls.
