UB 3, Central Connecticut 0
UB 3, Youngstown State 1
UB 2, Valparaiso 3
The Bulls went 2-1 last weekend at the second Mid-Continent Conference Cluster of the season hosted by Youngstown State. On Oct. 31, Buffalo defeated Central Connecticut State in three games, 15-9, 15-10, 15-6. On Nov. 1, the Bulls downed Youngstown State in four games, 15-5, 5-15, 15-11, 15-11. On Nov. 2, the Bulls were defeated by Valparaiso in five games, 15-12, 14-16, 15-0, 8-15, 8-15.

The Bulls were led by junior outside hitter Amy Burda, who contributed 36 kills and 38 digs over the weekend. Although Buffalo lost to Valparaiso on Nov. 1, the Bulls still remain the top-seed in the East Division.

Cross Country

The women's team was denied its 12th straight conference title, finishing third overall with 61 points in the Mid-Continent Conference Championship held Nov. 1 at UB. Senior Karen Lilly finished first for the Bulls with a time of 19:04 for a fourth-place finish in the race.

The men's team finished fourth overall in the race with a total of 120 points. Freshman Anthony David led the way for the men's team with a time of 26:25 for 13th overall in the race.

Lilly was named first team all-conference and freshman Eileen Rose was named second team all-conference for Buffalo.

Soccer

Men's
Buffalo 4, Oneonta State 1
UB 0, St. Bonaventure 2
Sophomore Steve Butcher scored three goals and added an assist as Buffalo defeated Oneonta State, 4-1, in a Mid-Continent Conference soccer match on Nov. 2. Buffalo outshot Oneonta State 25-9 as UB keeper Christain Barletta registered five saves.

The Bulls were shut out, 2-0, on Oct. 30 by St. Bonaventure, as the Bonnies got on the board early with a goal at 16:22, and added to their lead at 55:0.

Women's
UB 2, Syracuse 3
The Bulls wrapped up their 1997 season with a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to Syracuse on Oct. 31 at RAC Field. Syracuse got on the board and dominated most of the first half, firing 11 shots to UB's three. However, despite the strong play from Syracuse, UB's Tara Donahue scored off a corner kick from midfielder Tracey Britton with 12 seconds remaining before halftime to knot the score at one goal apiece.

Although the Bulls came out strong to start the second half, the Orangewomen took a 2-1 lead. Following several good Syracuse scoring chances, UB's Kirsten Hanson fired a shot through traffic from the left of the

SU goal that found its way into the net to tie the score at 2-2. However, the Orangewomen struck again with 30 seconds remaining, to give Syracuse the 3-2 victory.
