Esther Buckwalter

Esther Buckwalter received the nationally coveted Udall Scholarship, awarded to outstanding students who have demonstrated a commitment to careers in the environment, health care or tribal public policy. A UB Presidential Scholar, Esther spent six weeks in Costa Rica studying water availability and cloud forests through NSF’s Research Experience for Undergraduates program. At UB, she was involved in a project to explore the feasibility of reusing water extracted from the mechanized composting process used on campus.
