Abstract: REDARS (Risks from Earthquake DAmage to Roadway Systems) is a software program for deterministic and probabilistic seismic risk analysis of highway systems. This report documents the base data, research, modeling assumptions, and user requirements for running the REDARS Import Wizard, a software program for importing data into REDARS. Given the dependence on data provided in a standard, federally mandated format, the Import Wizard is limited in flexibility; however this is addressed in detail in one of the sections. Data sources and critical steps required to develop a REDARS database are documented in a data flow diagram and data models. Appendices are devoted to frequently-asked questions, a detailed outline of programming steps, FHWA network data fields referenced by the wizard, and a list of REDARS data table fields.
