American Educational Research Association (AERA) Dissertation Grant

Overview

The American Educational Research Association (AERA) Dissertation Grant Program seeks to stimulate research on U.S. education issues using data from the large-scale, national and international data sets supported by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), NSF, and other federal agencies. Grants of up to $20,000 are available for advanced doctoral students in education, sociology, economics, psychology, demography, statistics and psychometrics.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident, or a non-U.S. citizen enrolled in a doctoral program at a U.S. institution.
  • Be in an education research field or other field engaged in education-related research, including economics, political science, psychology, sociology, demography, statistics, public policy and psychometrics.
  • Be an advanced doctoral student at the dissertation writing stage.
