Leadership in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

A paradigm shift is under way in pharmaceutical sciences, and the UB School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is poised to lead the way. With a proud tradition of innovation stretching back 130 years, our robust research enterprise continues, and is just one of many reasons we’re already among the nation’s elite pharmacy schools. By continuing to advance that research, drug discovery and development, and combining our outstanding commitment to clinical practice and patient care, we will lead the field’s next revolution.

Here Is How We Attract and Train the Best Students From Around the World

Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. We provide a superior, research-informed curriculum that ensures we are effectively educating this next generation of leaders. And yet a pharmacy education—one that is community-minded and driven by values of patient care—is still out of reach for too many students. Your generosity provides the philanthropic keys to student success: increasing student support, expanding dual-degree options, and funding transformative experiences.

Here Is How We Advance Research, Discovery, Thought Leadership—and Improve Lives

Already among America’s most research-intensive pharmacy schools, our faculty have unique opportunities, with support from philanthropy, to build on our existing strengths in three key areas of basic, clinical and translational research in which we can lead the world and drive future discoveries: pharmacometrics, protein therapeutics and pharmacy outcomes. Our strategic investments in these areas include more funding to recruit senior scientists and clinician-scientists who are thought leaders in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences.

Here Is How We Improve Health in Our Community and Around the Globe

At UB, our passion for research, education and training comes from within but it’s directed outward: at making a positive difference, right here in our community and in the wider world. With philanthropic support, four priority initiatives will embody those principles—and make a dramatic difference:

  • Boosting funding for the Center for HOPE (Health Outcomes, Pharmacoinformatics and Epidemiology)
  • Enhancing the Model Pharmacy
  • Building an Entrepreneurs’ Fund
  • Expanding our education and advocacy efforts to share best practices and support public policy reforms that improve health—here in Buffalo and around the globe
The Power of Your Investment

We are poised for a quantum leap, one that will see us redefine the very future of pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy care and public-health policy. Our vision is audacious. Our goals are attainable. But we need your help to acheive the most ambitious fundraising goal in our history. The future of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has never been brighter. That future starts right here—with you.
