Computational Pathology

Medical image analysis has a long history, and recent years have included several groundbreaking studies in histopathology. Below is a broad overview of the steps required to quantify and analyze medical imaging, along with our group’s work in developing novel methods and experimental models.

CT Reconstruction

At UB, we are integrating modern digital models of human cadavers into a traditional dissection-based gross anatomy course to provide students with a state-of-the-art education in human form and function.

Image Registration

If we want to do 3D modeling, we first need to know how to translate 2D sections into 3D objects. For this, we use image registration to align sections of tissue into the same coordinate plane.
