Join us for Decoding U.S. Academic Culture, a session designed to help international students navigate the expectations, communication styles, and unwritten rules of the U.S. university system. Gain insights into classroom dynamics, faculty interactions, academic integrity, and more to boost your confidence and success. Don’t miss this chance to enhance your academic experience and connect with peers!
1:00pm - 2:30pm - Oral Communication Lab with an emphasis upon professionalizing skills such as networking, interviewing, talking about research and favorites such as pronunciation, idioms, tough topics, taboos and cross cultural communication. Any level is welcome.
3:00 - 4:30pm - Oral Communication Lab for undergraduate students with a focus upon academic success. Topics such as cross cultural communication, orienting to US academic conventions, pronunciation, small talk, presentations and more.
Both sessions will help you to improve your conversational English and make valuable connections. Domestic and international students are welcome.
