 UUP, state reach tentative agreement; no 'contracting in' of faculty, staff jobs
There will be no "contracting in" of jobs performed by SUNY faculty or professional staff to internal corporations such as the SUNY Research Foundation or the UB Foundation under a tentative contract agreement reached last week between the state and United University Professions.

Research links cholesterol levels, hypertension
People with normal blood pressure can experience greater increases in blood pressure during stressful situations if they have high cholesterol, UB researchers have found in the first study showing a link between cholesterol levels and hypertension.

Tardy budget has little effect on UB
No tuition hike expected

Although the state is 115 days late in adopting a 1997-98 budget, the tardiness has no real effect on operations at UB, President William R. Greiner said.

Management names Thomas interim dean
John M. Thomas has been named interim dean of the School of Management, replacing Frederick W. Winter, who has accepted the deanship at the University of Pittsburgh Katz School of Business.
