Faculty Development Public Service grants to be awarded

The Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Urban Affairs has announced the Faculty Development Public Service Initiative (FDPSI), a program to provide UB faculty with opportunities to engage in research projects that consider and enhance the role of public service in the university.

Preference will be given to innovative proposals that:

1. integrate scholarship with the university's public service mission, and/or

2. enhance faculty awareness of the ways that public service can enrich teaching and scholarship.

A limited number of grants averaging $5,000 to $10,000 will be awarded. All projects must be completed within one year of the date of the award. Applications for this initiative, including the objectives of the FDPSI and the guidelines for developing proposals, are available in deans' offices, department chair offices, the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Urban Affairs (548 Capen Hall), and on UB Wings http://wings.buffalo.edu/psua/FDPSI/

Completed application are due in 548 Capen Hall by 5 p.m. Nov. 1. Notification of awards will be made on Dec. 2.
