Darrin Bitterman is a shipping and receiving supervisor at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He’s been a UB employee for 20 years.
What does he miss most about working through the pandemic?
“Although I’ve still got some contact with people working on campus, I miss interacting with varied professors, doctors, students and the administration. After 20 years, it’s been a great pleasure meeting some of the students and watching them from their arrival to their graduation.”
What strikes him most about working in a relatively empty building?
“The quiet. I miss the higher speed rhythm that my job offered. I do have to say, I don’t let myself get bored. I’ll always find something to do.”
And what helps him get through the workday now?
“Snacks and a carefully planned lunch!”
We can totally relate!
