UB Giving Day is April 29-30

Published April 26, 2021

UB Giving Day builds community in Buffalo and around the world, as alumni, faculty, staff and friends come together for a 24-hour period to support UB. Faculty and staff investment in the university is critical and has a direct impact on students and the success of the university.

“Since 2015 UB Giving Day has raised more than $1.2 million,” says N. Geoffrey B Bartlett, assistant vice president for annual giving. “That translates into tremendous support for our students and programs, from scholarships and international education to student emergency funds and athletics.”

Gifts may be made to any area or cause at UB. Matches and challenges have been made possible by generous donors and will increase the power of gifts. “This year, challenge and match opportunities are nearly $475,000,” Bartlett notes, “which adds not only more financial support for UB, but also friendly competition for those vying to unlock funds for their favorite causes.”

All are invited and encouraged to help spread the word about UB Giving Day via social media. Text and image resources are available here. Help your favorite cause meet its challenge, share Giving Day progress reports and other updates with your personal networks, and, at the same time, help UB reach its goal.

This year UB Giving Day coincides with a historic announcement from University Advancement about the future of the Boldly Buffalo campaign. The UB community is invited to hear the news at a virtual event at 7 p.m. April 29. Register here.

Giving back is what brings the UB community together and makes the university great. With your help, we can accomplish what UB Giving Day is meant to do: build community and support our university. Check out matches and challenges, and follow the progress to goal from noon April 29 to noon on April 30.
