UB Learns and Panopto

Use UB's streaming server, Panopto, to deliver video and audio content inside your UB Learns course.

About Audio and Video Content

For the optimal user viewing experience, we recommend utilizing a streaming service to store and deliver video/audio content in UB Learns.

Adding Panopto Video Content to UB Learns

The Panopto integration provides the tools to add and manage Panopto video files from inside UB Learns course sites. Video files and classroom lecture recordings added to UB Learns course sites allow students to watch on any computer, laptop or mobile device.

Provision Your Course With the Panopto Course Tool Application Link

  2. Click the plus icon (top left-hand corner) in the Course Menu.
  3. Select Tool Link.
  4. Enter a Name for the link.
  5. For Type, choose Panopto Course Tool Application and click the checkbox to enable Available to Users.
  6. Click Submit.
  7. Click the link you just created.
  8. Click Configure.
  9. Click Add Course to Panopto.
    • You will see the message "Successfully provisioned course..."
  10. Click Return to Course.

We recommend that you have your students click on the Panopto tool link you just created to ensure they are added to the course viewer group and have access to view the recordings.

Common Questions

Why are people getting a "Request Access for Video" error?
Either change the sharing setting inside Panopto to “Anyone at your organization with the link” or use the Panopto Video Embed tool. Viewers should enable third-party cookies in their browser.

Why don't I see the Panopto Content link?
Provision your course (see Step 1 above) before you can use Panopto video with your course.

Why didn't my grades import into the Grade Center?
After students answer the final question by clicking Finish they must also click Continue in order for the grades to be imported.
