Access for Persons Not Affiliated with UB

Request course access for someone not affiliated with UB.

A non-affiliated person is someone who does not have an active UBIT account.

If you want someone who is not affiliated with UB to participate in your course, you must request an exception account.

To request an exception account, send the following information to

  • Full name of non-affiliated person.
  • Current email address of non-affiliated person.
  • A statement by the requester accepting the responsibility for the non-affiliated person.
  • Course ID.

You will receive via email the account username and password for the non-affiliated person. It is your responsibility to notify the person of their account username and password and to enroll them in your course. This account will only allow access to UB Learns.

Any questions related to these accounts should be directed to UB Learns support team for assistance.

Exception accounts have an expiration date, typically six months.
