Retention Center

The Retention Center displays information in three different sections:

• The Risk Table shows students who are currently at risk based on default rules. These rules are easily customized.
• The right panel displays students that you are monitoring as well as any information not related to risk that you’ve decided to monitor.
• The section below the Risk Table displays your course activity and includes links to communication tools and tasks that need your attention.

Pre-defined, yet customizable, risk categories include missed deadlines, grades, course activity and course access. From the Retention Center, you can monitor select students, send emails to one or more students and view an individual student to see his or her risk factors along with emails you have sent and private notes you have made.

If you exclude a rule from the Risk Table, it will appear under Other Information in the right panel. For example, you can exclude a rule to show a list of students that are doing very well in your course.

View your course activity in the section below the Risk Table. See when you last logged in, added content, engaged and participated. See what you need to grade, when you last posted or commented in a discussion forum, blog or journal. Links are provided to allow you to take appropriate action. For example, click an assignment link to begin grading and provide feedback, or click on a communication tool to interact with your students or post an announcement.
