Host Virtual Guests Using Zoom or Webex in UB Classrooms

Instructions

  1. Unlock the teaching station by entering its 6-digit combination using the touchscreen panel
  2. Log into your preferred conferenecing software -- Zoom or Webex.
  3. Sign into the software using your UBITName and password.
  4. Prepare the microphone:
    • Smaller rooms may have an embedded microphone  in the teaching station. Mute or unmute it using the touchscreen control panel.
    • If not:
      1. Press Unlock Accessory Drawer on the touchscreen control panel
      2. Look for the clip-on lapel microphone.
      3. Power the lapel mic on, check its battery level and clip it to your shirt.
  5. Adjust the microphone volume using the Microphone Control button on the right of the touchscreen control panel.
  6. To adjust the camera, select Camera Control on the right of the touchscreen control panel.
  7. Once your virtual guests have arrived, control the volume of the speakers on the right of the touchscreen panel.
  8. Use the recording functionality of the conferencing software to record.
  9. Once your class is finished, remember to log out of Zoom or Webex.
