Get Notified of New Voicemail by Email

Receive an email notification that you have new voicemail.

This service is ideal for faculty and staff on the go who need to know when they have new voicemail.

Your Notification's Contents

Voicemail Notifications contain a brief summary of your UB Voicemail box, when you receive a new voicemail. Unlike forwarding voicemail to email, no message recording is attached. The notification will include the following:

  • The count of new messages flagged as urgent by the caller
  • A total count of new messages
  • The caller ID of the most recent new message received with the time and date

For example:

A new voice message has been delivered

Urgent Voice Count: 1

Voice Count: 5

Voice message from 7165551212 received 11:31 AM 11/10/16

Request Voicemail Notification to Your Email

UB faculty and staff can self-enroll by logging into the Personal Communications Assistant and selecting Messaging Assistant to access the Messaging Assistant Web tool and the Notification Devices option. UBIT technical staff can also set this up for you.

Notifications can only be applied to your UB voicemail. Department mailboxes and those for labs or general access areas are not generally eligible for this feature. If you need assistance with your departmental or general access mailbox, including voicemail notification, contact the UBIT Help Center.
