Forwarding Your Central Email

Use email forwarding to take mail destined for one email address and redirect it to a different email address. You can set a forward so email addressed to your UB email address is delivered to any non-UB email address

People eligible to set, update and remove email forwarding on Central email are:

  • Volunteers who have not been migrated to Exchange

Setting up a Forward

To forward your email:

  1. Log into Central Email Forwarding.
  2. Enter the non-UB email address to which you would like to forward all mail for Email Address.
  3. Enter the email address from step 2 for Confirm Email Address.
  4. Click Create Forward. A confirmation email will be sent to your non-UB email address.
  5. There are two ways to confirm the forwarding request:
    • Click the link provided in the confirmation email or copy and paste it into your browser.
    • Log into Central Email Forwarding, enter the confirmation ID (provided in the confirmation email) for Confirm ID. Click Confirm.
  6. The forward will take effect in approximately 10 minutes.

Forwarding is automatically checked to ensure the destination address still exists. A forward will be removed if it points to an account that no longer exists.

Have the Confirmation Email Resent to You

If you set up an email forwarding request and need to have the confirmation email resent to you:

  1. Log into Central Email Forwarding.
  2. Click Resend confirm email. A confirmation email will be sent to your non-UB email address.
  3. There are two ways to confirm the forwarding request:
    • Click the link provided in the confirmation email or copy and paste it into your browser.
    • Log into Central Email Forwarding, enter the confirmation ID (provided in the confirmation email) for Confirm ID. Click Confirm.

Canceling Your Email Forwarding Request

To cancel a pending forwarding request:

  1. Log into Central Email Forwarding.
  2. Click Cancel forward request. Your email forwarding request will be discarded and messages will delivered to your UB email address.

Stop Forwarding Your Email

If your email is being forwarded to a non-UB email address and you want to stop the forward:

  1. Log into Central Email Forwarding.
  2. Click Stop Forwarding Email. Email forwarding will end in approximately 10 minutes; all messages sent to your UB address after the forward is no longer in effect will be delivered to your UB email address.
