Personal Conference or Audio-Only Meetings in Webex

A Personal Conference meeting includes an audio portion and an online portion. Start the audio portion and the online portion is automatically created on your Webex site.

Set Up a Personal Conference Account

Before you can schedule or start a Personal Conference or Audio-Only meeting, you must set up a Personal Conference account. Up to three accounts may be created.

  1. Go to ub.webex.com
  2. Click Sign in
  3. Enter your full @buffalo.edu email address. You will be redirected to a UB login page
  4. Enter your UBITName and password
  5. Go to Preferences > Audio and Video
  6. For Default call-in number select at least one of toll call-in numbers listed (there are no toll-free options available)
  7. Scroll to Audio PIN and enter a 4 digit PIN number and click Save
  8. Next to Personal Conferencing, click Generate an account
  9. You will see displayed the phone number(s) to call into a personal conference and the access code for both Host and Attendees. When you host a phone conference, send the attendees the call-in number and attendee access code

Connecting to a Personal Conference Meeting

When scheduling a Personal Conference meeting, select one of your Personal Conference number accounts to use for the meeting. You can use a Personal Conference number account to start an instant audio conference from any phone without scheduling it first.

  1. The host, and all participants, call the Personal Conference number
  2. The host enters the Host Access Code and then the Audio PIN number
  3. Attendees enter the Attendee Access Code

Note: If the host leaves the meeting, the meeting will stay active for 5 more minutes before ending automatically.
