Deleting Calendar Items

Discover how to delete one-time and recurring appointments.

To remove single or recurring appointments from your calendar with:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2007
    1. Select Calendar in the Navigation Pane.
    2. Select a calendar item by clicking on it.
    3. Press Ctrl-D.
    4. If the appointment is recurring:
      • Select Delete this occurrence to delete only this specific appointment. Click OK.
      • Select Delete the series to delete all occurrences of the recurring appointment. Click OK.
  • Microsoft Outlook 2010 and 2013
    1. Select Calendar in the Navigation Pane.
    2. Select a calendar item by clicking on it.
    3. Press Ctrl-D.
    4. If the appointment is recurring:
      • Select Delete this occurrence to delete only this specific appointment. Click OK.
      • Select Delete the series to delete all occurrences of the recurring appointment. Click OK.
  • Microsoft Outlook 2011
    1. Select Calendar in the View Switcher.
    2. Select a calendar item by clicking on it.
    3. Click Delete.
    4. If the appointment is recurring:
      • Select Delete this occurrence to delete only this specific appointment. Click OK.
      • Select Delete the series to delete all occurrences of the recurring appointment. Click OK.
  • Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA)
    1. Select Calendar view.
    2. Select a calendar item by clicking the Subject of the appointment.
    3. Select Delete.
    4. If the appointment is recurring:
      • Select Cancel only this occurrence to delete only this specific appointment. Click Save & Close.
      • Select Cancel all occurrences after: and select a date after which all instances of the item should be deleted. Click Save & Close.
      • Select Cancel all occurrences to delete all instances of the recurring appointment from your calendar. Click Save and Close.
