Enhanced security for UB Whitepages (LDAP)

As of March 22, 2022, a UBITName and password is required to log into UB Whitepages (LDAP). You’ll also need to use UBVPN when connecting from off campus.

This change is designed to combat fraudulent messages impersonating people associated with UB. After this change, potential scammers will have less easy access to UB contact information.

What is changing?

When you visit the UB Whitepages at ldap.buffalo.edu, you’ll be asked to log into your UBITname account using the same login screen as other UB apps and online services.

If you’re not on campus, you’ll also need to use the UBVPN (or if you’re a UB employee, you may be able to use your department’s VPN) to access UB Whitepages. You can find complete instructions for connecting to the UBVPN from a computer off-campus on the UBIT website.
