Do you ever wish you could receive a notification when someone has opened your email? "Read receipts" might be for you.

How does it work?

When an email is read, "read receipts" send a reply to the sender that confirms the email has been opened.

The process is optional: the person reading the message can choose not to send a receipt.

If you are reading a message from someone who requested a read receipt, UBmail Powered by Google will ask whether you want to send a receipt when you read the message. You can also change your account settings to tell Gmail what to do in advance.

Who can use it?

Read receipts are available to UB students and alumni using UBmail Powered by Google as of May 21, 2018.

Please note that receipts are not available on all mail clients, and may not work for all recipients.
