As of Tuesday, November 1, 2016, UB Stream is the go-to application for campus video content.

UB Stream offers a web portal for faculty and staff to upload, manage and share videos with students and others. UB Stream automatically converts over a dozen file types to MP4 during upload. Real Media files must be converted to one of those file types beforehand.

“We’re excited to offer a streaming media service that allows students to watch videos on any device,” said Beth Fellendorf, IT Customer Service Manager for Classroom Technologies. Media can easily be shared on most websites and social media platforms by copying and pasting preformatted code. Faculty can also easily upload and customize media from UB Stream in UBlearns courses via a Mashup tool.

According to Fellendorf, "Other features that faculty and staff will find useful are the ability to add caption files to media and using chapter markers to divide long videos into focused, relevant clips."

To start using UB Stream, visit ubstream.buffalo.edu and login with your UBITName and password. Find instructions on the UBIT website.

Questions can be directed to the UBIT Help Center by calling (716) 645-3542 or visiting www.buffalo.edu/ubit/help.
