Desktop Management Tools for IT Support Staff

A variety of desktop management tools managed through the console are available to assist UB's IT staff.

BeyondTrust (formerly Bomgar) Remote Support Client is a secure remote access platform. It can be used to allow a technician to interact with an end-user's system for software and configuration maintenance. Primary usage is for live troubleshooting with the user, but maintenance of unattended machines is possible in some circumstances.
Lansweeper is an agentless IT asset management and network inventory software tool for Microsoft Windows OS client computers.
Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) is a tool used to remotely distribute operating systems and software to client computers.
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) hosts desktops on a centralized server in a data center. VDI allows IT staff to build and manage a pool of identical desktops centrally. People access a desktop with dedicated hardware or software client.
