Chris Clune brings over 20 years of experience in Information Technology leadership to the University at Buffalo. As UB’s Director of IT Customer Service, he is responsible for providing visionary leadership to support and improve the customer experience.

As a member of the VPCIO’s senior leadership team, Clune will help measure customer satisfaction with IT and work with others within the VPCIO organization. He manages the functions of the UBIT Help Center, classroom support, university owned device support, student learning space support and customer relationship management. Clune will create an improved support structure for our customers, conduct emerging technology awareness, enhance IT communications across UB and launch other customer enhancing initiatives. In addition, he will address faculty, student and administrative IT needs working with distributed information technology organizations campus-wide.

Clune joins UB after 18 years at Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science where he held positions of increasing responsibilities. In his most recent role as Manager of Desktop Computing and User Services, he lead a team of technical staff in support of the School’s Windows and Macintosh devices for instructional and research purposes. Prior to his involvement with Carnegie Mellon University, Clune worked as a field service technician supporting Windows and Macintosh systems in the greater Pittsburgh area.

Clune holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Information Systems and Communications from Robert Morris University, and an Associates degree in Electronics Technology from Penn Technical Institute.
