Anne Eberle

Share a bit about your background with us, specifically, what led you to pursue a career in the IT field?

After completing my BA in Psychology, I started my career in banking. After a few years, I decided to go back to school, this time for a BS in Management Computer Information Systems. I started my IT career working as an intern at a health insurance company, creating and maintaining their internal department’s website. From there, I was hired full-time in the Change Managment department.

What excites you about working at the University at Buffalo and UBIT?

I am learning that UB is a fun place to work, as I have already met so many great people. I am excited about having the opportunity to make a positive impact on UBIT’s change management.

Outside of work, what hobbies or activities do you partake in?

I enjoy being outdoors, especially when the weather is warm. I love going on walks or hikes in the summer.

What is your favorite book? Why?

My favorite book is A Thousand Lifetimes by Maria Reich. It is a great read exploring the hardships and hopes of life and the relationships we experience along the way. And, of course, there’s a rescue dog in the story!

If you could have lunch with anyone, living or dead, who would it be, and why?

I would like to have lunch with my dad’s mom. I never had the chance to meet her as she passed before I was born. I would love to hear about her experiences growing up, how different things were back then, and what her favorite memories were of my grandfather.

Do you have a piece of advice that has stuck with you over the years?

Don’t waste time worrying about things out of your control; instead, focus your energy on what you can change.

Finally, if we run into you in the hall or before a meeting, what is one subject you are always ready to talk about?

My dog!
