Student Assessment and Program Evaluation

Annual Program Assessment and Program Evaluation

Program assessment and evaluation is very important for ensuring that UB is achieving its goals of academic excellence and providing a transformative educational experience for our students.

Annual Program Assessment

Our center provides oversight of annual student learning assessment and reporting activities in compliance with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). In addition, CEI offers a wide variety of services to support assessment activities in academic departments and programs, including:

  • Leadership and resources for accreditation-compliant outcomes assessment in academic programs and academic support units
  • Coordination of learning assessment activities across the institution, including assessment of General Education outcomes
  • Leadership and staff support for the Institutional Standing Committee
  • Coordination of professional development opportunities in the area of student learning assessment
  • Assistance to programs and units in fulfilling assessment requirements for university annual reports, comprehensive program review and specialized accreditation reviews
  • Assistance to faculty in the creation of appropriate course learning outcomes and the development of appropriate methods to assess student achievement

For the first time in its history, UB has an online database that contains program-learning outcomes, program assessment plans (including curriculum maps) and annual assessment reports. This database is available to all UB faculty and staff.

TheĀ Annual Academic Program Assessment database is currently offline while upgrades are being completed.
