Building Teams Through Bias Literacy

Research tells us that diverse groups consistently perform better than groups of similar people, but why is that so? This session will explore what unconscious bias looks like in teams and strategies to build successful groups, inside and outside the classroom.

Learning objectives

  • Define unconscious bias and recognize instances where unconscious bias is present in and out of the classroom or lab
  • Brainstorm and develop tangible ways to lead diverse group and address unconscious bias behaviors, attitudes and beliefs
