What is the Faculty Video Production Studio?

The Faculty Video Production Studio, located in Diefendorf Hall on the South Campus, is a resource for faculty who wish to record video for instructional purposes. This space is designed to be accessible to those who have little to no previous experience with creating videos.

Equipment and software

This faculty resource provides the following equipment and software:

  • Camera.
  • Microphone.
  • Lighting.
  • Touch screen monitor.
  • Confidence monitor (displays bullet points near the camera).
  • Panopto software.
  • Lightboard.

A lightboard is a glass chalkboard that is internally lit and lets you:

  • Draw highly-visible sketches and equations as you record your lecture.
  • Work with your drawings in a natural way.
  • Face the camera.
  • Capture quality video without post-production editing.

The Faculty Video Production Studio has not been set up as an editing suite. All content will be uploaded to the cloud and can be edited by the author at a later date.
