An opinion piece in The MIT Press Reader titled "Prescription for Journalists: Less Time Studying Twitter, More Time Studying Math" cites UB research in arguing that journalists need to get better at interpreting statistics and research studies. The author, John Wihbey at Northeastern University, notes that research coauthored by Kenny Joseph, assistant professor of computer science and engineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, analyzed partisanship across more than 300,000 news articles produced by 644 journalists at 25 different U.S. news outlets.
