SNAP benefits may be paused beginning November 1 as a result of the government shutdown. Benefits issued to participants prior to November 1 will still be available if not already used, but new benefits may not be issued until funding is restored.

Students who may be eligible for SNAP and are not yet enrolled can still submit application during the government shutdown, but benefits may not be available until funding is restored. UB students can still schedule an appointment with a SNAP representative in Health Promotion for assistance with the application process.
NY.gov has answers to FAQs about SNAP and the government shutdown. Community and emergency food resources close to UB can be located using The Food Pantries Food Connect Map and the FeedMore WNY Food Pantry Locator.
