Things may be different this year - but one thing that’s always the same is our pride in UB. Family Weekend and Homecoming will include unique and interactive programming, so take some time to celebrate everything we love about the University at Buffalo.
From our Famous UB Cookie Bake Along to a virtual mind reading show, you’ll find lots to do on Family Weekend.
2020 marks the 100th Year of the UB Marching Band spreading pride and spirit to UB. As part of their 100th year celebration, the Thunder of the East will share a special private performance with UB students, parents, families, alumni and friends for Virtual Family Weekend.
Dean of Students Barbara Ricotta has served as UB Dean of Students since 1997. She is responsible for the day-to-day management of many Student Life units, helping to shape the campus experience for countless students, faculty and staff. Barb welcomes this special opportunity to meet and discuss life at UB with parents and family members.
The UB Cookies are almost as iconic as it is delicious! As part of Virtual Family Weekend, UB special in-house bakers will share their recipe, as well as their tips and tricks so that you can make these delicious treats from the comfort of your own kitchen!

Walk, jog or run along with UB families across the globe without ever leaving your neighborhood during this Virtual 5K Family Run!
Run as an individual or with other family members wherever they’re located. Participants are encouraged to wear their UB gear and complete their 5K run anytime over the weekend as long as times are recorded by 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020. Anyone who successful completes the 5K will be entered into a drawing to be sent UB swag and prizes will also be sent to top runners in different age categories.
