Join UB in raising awareness about domestic and intimate partner violence, and learn how to support those who have been affected.
Domestic and intimate partner violence is a major public health, human rights, and social justice issue, and we need everyone’s help to end it. UB hosts a number of events this month and beyond for you to get involved. Signature events include Walk With Me and Hoops for Hope.
Health Promotion hosts a variety of violence prevention workshops all semester long. Learn how to be an active bystander, how to help a friend affected by sexual violence, and tap into community resources. All workshops are free and open to all students.
Health Promotion will be collecting donations for Haven House, our local domestic violence shelter, and Crisis Services, for use in their hospital response Comfort Kits.
Drop off Location: 114 Student Union.
Items needed: New adult women’s t-shirts, sweatpants, and sweatshirts, along with travel-sized, unopened personal care items and care items for children.
For a complete list of the items needed, please contact Health Promotion.
If you or someone you know has been affected by domestic and intimate partner violence, or has had an unwanted sexual experience, it's important to get help as soon as possible. UB offers a variety of services to help support survivors.
