All new students must complete certain health and safety courses, including AlcoholEdu (designed to reduce at-risk drinking behavior) and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates and Graduates (which help promote healthy behaviors and prevent sexual assault and relationship violence). You take these courses online, starting before you arrive at UB.
Each course has a Part 1 and a Part 2. You take Part 1 of each of your required courses before your first semester starts, wait at least 40 days, and then take Part 2 of each course later in your first semester.

You do not have to complete each course in one sitting. Within each course, you can finish one section at a time until you are done.
All survey responses are strictly confidential. UB will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see individual students’ answers.
You may be interested in speaking with your student about the topics covered in the AlcoholEdu and Sexual Assault Prevention courses. As much as you believe your students do not hear your opinions on these topics, they do value your judgment, advice and the expectation that you have for them.
Resources for Parents of College Students provides information, key facts and important resources to help have meaningful and productive conversations that may impact your student’s safety, decision-making and personal development.
When you’re taking the course, you can click on the “Technical Help” button located on every screen, or view our troubleshooting guide.
If you have not completed your AlcoholEdu or Sexual Assault Prevention requirements, you may have a hold on your account. A hold — also called a service indicator — may prevent you from registering for classes, receiving grades, and getting official documents. You can review your holds at the HUB Student Center via MyUB, where you will see detailed information about the hold, including steps for resolving it.
Submit the help form below to remove the hold on your account. (If you completed the course at another institution, you will need to provide documentation.)
For assistance with other course problems or to have a hold removed please complete the form below or stop into 114 Student Union.
Students need to contact us directly to have their hold lifted.
