Get some exercise, or just relax on the water. You can go boating on scenic Lake LaSalle whether you’re a student, faculty, staff or member of the outside community.
If you’re a UB student, faculty or staff, you can use your current UB Card to get free loaner kayaks, canoes, paddle boats and paddle boards from the Lake LaSalle boat dock, located between the UB Commons and the Center for the Arts.
Lake LaSalle is typically open for boating from April until November, weather permitting.
First-time paddlers must take part in a short instructional-based session regarding the rules, regulations and safety. Paddling instruction is available to those who do not know how to paddle; student staff will be on site during posted hours of operation – weather permitting)
Paddling in Lake LaSalle when water temperature is below 60
degrees requires each paddler to adhere to cold water paddling
You can find copies of the ACA Cold Water Survival at the Boat Dock and outside the office of Outdoor Pursuits in the Student Union.
