UB Safety Shuttle to Provide On-demand Late Night Transportation

Generic Safety Sign.

Published September 11, 2019

A new Safety Shuttle is now available to students, faculty and staff needing a ride to within a 1.5 mile radius of the South Campus.

The operating hours are 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. during the fall and spring semesters. The service, operated by Parking and Transportation Services, replaces the SBI Safety Shuttle.

The Safety Shuttle will make use of app technology for on-demand service. The app is currently in development and Safety Shuttle drivers will be provided iPads linked to the reservation app. In lieu of the app for reservations, or in the event of a technology glitch, First Transit will make use of its 24-hour dispatcher to schedule reservatons. Until the app is available, students may call 716-895-2402 to arrange for a pick-up.

Schedule The UB Safety Shuttle

Call the First Transit dispatcher 8:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m., 716-895-2402

The 1.5 mile service radius will be determined using Main Circle on the South Campus as the starting point.

Anyone exhibiting intoxicated behavior may be denied boarding on the Safety Shuttle. Alcohol-related behaviors that impede the operation of the Safety Shuttle, will subject rider to removal by University Police, a disciplinary hearing and a $100 fine.
