More than 100 people attended the 2016 Open House on Student Research in Addiction Sciences at the Research Institute on Addictions (RIA) to learn more about the interdisciplinary addictions research conducted by UB students under the direction of RIA research scientists and affiliated UB faculty.
This was a unique opportunity to showcase the broad range of addictions-related research that takes place with the guidance of RIA scientists and affiliated UB faculty and research scientists, who provide one-on-one mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students in scientific research methods.
The research at the event represented 36 undergraduate and graduate UB students, 12 majors and five UB schools. Projects were mentored by 11 senior research scientists from RIA, five RIA-affiliated UB scientists and two RIA collaborators from UB.
Students from the following schools and majors presented research at last year's Open House:
College of Arts and Sciences
Jacobs School of Medicine and Biological Sciences
Graduate School of Education
School of Engineering and Applied Sciences
