Title Oral Hygiene in Institutionalized Elderly
Description Comprehensive literature review found that oral health was a major concern in long term care facilities for residents. This program was designed to address the continued needs for research in the field of oral health.
Objective The investigators seek to participate in a quality improvement initiative to promote the oral health of institutionalized demented elderly. The investigators seek to develop an educational intervention for certified nurses assistants to promote improved oral health of institutionalized demented elderly. The educational intervention will be developed in consideration of the current knowledge, perceived skills, attitudes, and beliefs of certified nurses assistants about providing oral care to institutionalized demented elderly.
