These companies together expect to bring 123 jobs to the Buffalo area and invest over $2.5 million

The most recent is the announcement of five new companies relocating to UB campuses, joining the eight others that were announced in July for 20 total company relocations to date. Among the most recent additions are:

  • HarkerBio — a startup company that provides an X-ray crystallography-based technology platform to rapidly and cost-effectively advance drug development;
  • Mitigate Injury Management — The startup will develop software and provide injury-management consultation services to industries nationwide; and
  • ZeptoMetrix Corp. — This existing biotech company specializes in developing products for the global infectious disease diagnostic market.

These companies together expect to bring 123 jobs to the Buffalo area and invest over $2.5 million, in addition to enhancing Buffalo’s profile as a center for medical research, life sciences, and bioinformatics. This brings the total benefits of new or relocating companies to nearly 2,000 added jobs and over $20 million in investment to the local economy. UB is sponsoring two-thirds of the companies participating in START-UP NY throughout the state.
