Bruce R. Troen is an expert on geriatric medicine and palliative care.

He can speak to the media about issues relating to health and aging, including how health care providers and policymakers can support successful aging.

Troen’s research centers on the biology of aging. His team has investigated topics that include frailty, osteoporosis, and care improvement for patients with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

He founded the UB Center for Successful Aging, which brings UB researchers together with community partners to solve challenges facing older adults. He also help found the UB Center of Excellence for Alzheimer’s Disease in Western New York.
