Food Swap: Calorie Comparison

What are you eating for lunch today?

Not all midday meals are created equal. If you're trying to lose weight, eat more vegetables or aiming for overall better health, it might be a good time to rethink your lunchtime meal choices.

Not only are the calorie differences astronomically different, but the portion sizes are as well. Take a look at the chart below and compare the amount of one food you would need to eat in order to match the calorie intake of some of your favorite treats!

Pace Yourself

It might not make sense to eat 8 cups of grapes or 19 egg whites in one sitting, but finding a balance is the key. Instead of having two slices of pepperoni pizza for lunch, maybe have one slice with a bowl of cauliflower and some dip. Alternately, skipping the Snickers bar and carrying around a bag of cherries could help you curb those panging sweets cravings that hit in the early afternoon!

Best advice: Try to incorporate as many colors into your diet as possible. If you look at your meal and everything is the same color, it might be time to mix things up.
